Director of Title IX & Equity Services - Remote

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Provide oversight of staff, including onboarding, staff training, mentoring and coaching, ongoing professional development, personnel management, and management of employee work and workload.
  • Supervise team managers and others who may fill supervisory roles within the unit to ensure they are providing appropriate supervision and oversight.
  • Assign staff to fill client needs, ensuring appropriate billable rates.
  • Work with leadership to develop goals for service delivery, and ensure consistency in meeting goals as set by executive leadership.
  • Work closely with the business development team and Director of Operations on forecasting in order to create responsive hiring plans and hires of qualified staff in keeping with those hiring needs.
  • Interact with relevant senior management regarding budgets, personnel decisions, billable rates, forecasting, strategy, and hiring plans.
  • Ensure staff are trained on, and use, best practices and adhere to GRS standards.
  • Develop materials as necessary to enhance the technical skills, and consistency of work product, of GRS staff within the unit.
  • Review training materials developed for GRS open trainings on topics relating to Title IX, Title VI, Title VII and related laws to ensure trainings reflect GRS standards.
  • Take proactive steps to promote employee satisfaction.
  • Perform client-facing work as a Title IX Coordinator, EO Director, or consulting services as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a leader in a collaborative environment, to exercise good judgment, and to bring about consensus among groups possessing diverse opinions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build or enhance a company-wide program, department or unit.
  •  The ability to establish and/or maintain documentation and recordkeeping standards consistent with best practices, and manage multiple/competing deadlines and priorities.
  •  Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize projects for completion in a timely manner.
  • Experience serving as a Title IX Coordinator and/or EEO Director at multiple campuses.
  • Prior supervisory and/or management experience.
  • Experience conducting or overseeing investigations or resolutions, including hearings, alternative resolutions, appeals.
  • Experience managing investigators and/or hearing officers, providing timely feedback, training and professional development, making hiring and disciplinary decisions.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in working with a wide range of policies in the higher education environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and /or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  •  Experience with Grand River Solutions or with a similar consulting firm.

Salary
GRS has different base pay ranges for different locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistent with different geographic markets. Compensation offered will depend on various factors in addition to location of primary residence, such as job level, complexity and responsibility required by the role, knowledge, job duties and requirements, relevant experience, and skills. 

The pay range for this position in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and New York City is $200,000 - $250,000. For those who are elsewhere in California, the range is $130,000 - $210,000. For those based in Colorado, the range is $130,000 – $210,000. For those based in Washington State, the range is $130,000 - $250,000. As noted above, all of these pay ranges depend upon specific location, knowledge, relevant experience, background, and skills.
