JDXpert is seeking a Controller for our fully remote B2B SaaS company to oversee accounting operations, ensure financial compliance, and support our growth and scalability. This role requires deep expertise in revenue recognition (ASC 606), deferred revenue management, and SaaS-specific financial metrics such as ARR and churn. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimizing cash flow, and maintaining compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
JDXpert is seeking a Controller for our fully remote B2B SaaS company to oversee accounting operations, ensure financial compliance, and support our growth and scalability. This role requires deep expertise in revenue recognition (ASC 606), deferred revenue management, and SaaS-specific financial metrics such as ARR and churn. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimizing cash flow, and maintaining compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
What you'll do:
- Manage Accounting Operations: Billing, AR/AP, general ledger, revenue recognition, financial reporting, and tax compliance.
- Oversee Financial Processes: Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Financial Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain Internal Controls: Optimize accounting processes, and leverage technology for increased efficiency.
- Ensure Compliance: handle sales tax regulations for SaaS in multiple states.
- SaaS Financial Metrics: Track and analyze key SaaS financial metrics, including ARR, churn rate, NRR, and GRR.
- Oversee Billing Systems: Ensure accurate invoicing and timely collections.
- Supervise and effectively lead remote accounting teams (1 direct report).
- Continuously improve accounting systems and procedures.
What you’ll need to have:
- Active CPA with strong GAAP knowledge.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years as Controller (or equivalent role) at a B2B SaaS business in the $20-50M revenue range.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with platforms such as NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, HubSpot, etc.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills that inspire teams and drive results.
- Willingness to travel bi-annually to All-Hands meetings.
As a bonus, you’ll have:
- Experience with NetSuite, Maxio, or ERP system implementations.
- Public accounting experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven experience managing remote teams.
This is a remote role, and reports to our Chief Financial Officer.
