About the Job 
BILT is hiring a Senior Back-End / Full-Stack Developer to create and maintain scalable server-side systems for our mobile apps, ensuring performance and security for government contracts.  Due to the requirements of our government contract, this position requires U.S. citizenship. 
 
Qualifications 
·       Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices. 
·       Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity. 
·       Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms. 
·       Collaborate with front-end and mobile developers for seamless integration. 
·       Troubleshoot and resolve back-end performance issues. 
·       Ensure compliance with government security and data standards. 
·       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 
·       5+ years of back-end development experience in SaaS or mobile environments. 
·       Experience with government contracts and secure API development. 
·       Strong knowledge of database design and optimization. 
·       Strong background in microservices development and microservices design patterns. 
·       Experience with pytest for unit testing. 
·       Strong working knowledge of native AWS services such ECS, ECR, ALB/NLB, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, Cognito, Aurora RDS, DynamoDB. 
·       Experience in Agile/Scrum including Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives. 
 
·       Solid experience with Code Reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring code quality across the team. 
·       Strong communication and problem-solving skills. 
·       An unwavering desire to not only “satisfy” our customers, but to “delight” them. 
 
·       U.S. citizenship is required due to government contract stipulations. 
 
Technical Skills 
  • Backend: Python, FastAPI, Pydantic v2, OpenAPI, Unit Testing (pytest)
  • Frontend: React, TypeScript, TanStack Query, Component libraries, Unit Testing (vitest)
  • Databases: SQL and NoSQL databases including PostgreSQL and DynamoDB
  • Cloud Provider: AWS, AWS GovCloud
  • Tools: Docker, Git, Jenkins
  • Certifications: AWS Developer Associate (preferred)

 

Nice To Have

·       Front-end UI development experience with React.

·       FedRAMP/Impact Level compliance, government contracting, or regulated environments.

·       Experience with 3D rendering, graphics pipelines, or real-time renderers.

·       Experience with CAD, 3D datatypes.

·       Startup experience.
 


Work Environment

·       This role is based at BILT’s Global Brand Support Center in Grapevine, Texas, near DFW Airport and Southlake Town Square.

·       Routine use of standard office equipment (computers, tablets, phones, email, and Microsoft Teams).

·       Physical demands include prolonged computer use and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.

·       Office hours: 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with convenient parking and nearby amenities.
