Resolution Services Civil Rights Investigations Manager - Remote

The Resolution Services Manager will assist in the oversight of resolutions to ensure timely completion of all assigned resolutions, and to ensure that GRS work product standards are consistently met. The Resolution Services Manager will contribute to the growth and development of GRS Resolution team members to ensure they are effectively trained and utilized, and that they have the training and tools necessary to ensure quality and consistency of resolution processes. 
 
The Resolution Services Manager shall assist the Director and Assistant Director of Resolution Services to gather feedback and information from Business Development regarding client satisfaction and will work with Resolution team members as needed to improve skills or work product standards. This role is also responsible for assisting the Assistant Director in the development of internal training programs or materials to enhance the technical skills of Resolution team members. The Resolution Services Manager will regularly interact with the Director and Assistant Director, and Resolution Services Coordinator regarding work assignments, training, staff performance, utilization rates, and hiring plans.  



Duties include: 
  • Provide direct supervision and oversight to a team of Resolution Services team members.  Provide support, mentoring, and coaching related to civil rights investigations, hearings, appeals or other resolution processes); 
  • Assist the Assistant Director, with the onboarding of new Resolution team members, ensuring provision of appropriate training. 
  • Assist with management of complaint resolution timelines to ensure timely delivery of work product. 
  • Ensure work product adheres to GRS Standards and the GRS Quality Assurance Process 
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with assigned Resolution team members. 
  • Approve Resolution team member investigation plans, and other resolution plans, as necessary. 
  • Provide day-to-day technical guidance/assistance to assigned Resolution team members. 
  • Provide support and assistance to Resolution team members as needed including providing mentoring, coaching and assistance with completion of work. 
  • Conduct or contribute to employee evaluations and improvement/development plans as needed and appropriate for assigned 
  • Resolution team members in collaboration with the Director and Assistant Director of Resolution Services. 
  • Escalate team questions or concerns to Director of Resolution Services, Assistant Director of Resolution Services and/or Resolution Services Coordinator, as appropriate. 
  • Provide regular updates and communications to Resolution Services Coordinator about case progress/status and new case assignments.
  • Conduct investigations, hearings, or other resolution processes as directed. 
  • Complete other tasks and projects as assigned. 
 
Required Qualifications 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead within a collaborative environment, to exercise good judgment, and to bring about consensus among groups possessing diverse opinions. 
  • Strong investigation background and demonstrated experience in conducting investigations from start to finish, including intake triage process, preliminary background research, investigation planning, interviewing and report drafting. 
  • Experience conducting or overseeing high quality resolutions, including hearings, alternative resolutions, and appeals. 
  • Experience providing leadership, support, and guidance to experienced investigators and/or hearing officers. 
  • Ability to organize and prioritize projects, establish and/or maintain documentation and recordkeeping standards consistent with best practices, and manage multiple/competing deadlines and priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize projects for completion in a timely manner. 
  • Excellent qualitative and analytical skills as shown by work experience that demonstrates ability to identify, analyze and investigate potential problems; propose and develop action plans; and implement a plan to resolve identified issues. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training is required. 
 
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience working with a wide range of policies in higher education environment. 
  • 1-3 years of proven supervisory and/or management experience. 
  • Advanced degree or equivalent experience is preferred. 
Salary and Stipend 



Each manager will receive an annual stipend of $12,000. 



Salary
 GRS has different base pay ranges for different locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistent with different geographic markets. Compensation offered will depend on various factors in addition to location of primary residence, such as job level, complexity and responsibility required by the role, knowledge, job duties and requirements, relevant experience, and skills. 



The pay range for this position in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and New York City is $95,000 - $130,000.  For those who are elsewhere in California, the range is $65,000 - $105,000.  For those based in Colorado, the range is $65,000 – 105,000.  For those based in Washington State, the range is $65,000 - $130,000.  As noted above, all of these pay ranges depend upon specific location, knowledge, relevant experience, background, and skills.
