Grand River Solutions provides a wide range of harassment and discrimination response and resolution services to schools and college delivered by individuals with direct, hands-on experience in education. 

Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Accounting Manager will oversee GRS accounting operations, ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, and maintain robust internal controls. This role is critical to supporting our company's financial health and compliance obligations.  The Accounting Manager will also be responsible for meeting deadlines for month-end closing, invoicing, and timely meeting all other accounting deadlines. 

Summary of Responsibilities: 
  • Month End Close
    • Revenue Recognition 
    • Costing 
    • GL / AR / AP (QBO, bill.com)
    • Bank and Accounts Reconciliations 
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to GAAP
  •  Accounting Processes
    • Invoicing (currently using BigTime, and subject to change) 
    • Manage client collections and vendor payments 
    • Cash and credit card management 
    • Monthly financial review, tracking and reporting on KPIs 
    • Assist with budgeting and related activities 
    • Collaborate with company directors to review monthly actuals 
    • Maintain and update policies and procedures per GAAP
  • General Administration
    • Manage foreign qualifications with our registered agent 
    • Submit business and tax filings 
    • Manage corporate insurance renewal, generating COI’s for clients 
    • Collaborate with tax preparer on income tax returns and income tax estimates 
    • Collaborate with consulting firm on 409A valuation 
    • Processing of payroll 

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience successfully managing accounts receivables.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Previous experience in time tracking and expense software; preparing invoices and posting to accounting system.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to interact with GRS clients on accounting and AR invoicing questions.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • High attention to process improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.

Salary 
GRS has different base pay ranges for different locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistent with different geographic markets. Compensation offered will depend on various factors in addition to location of primary residence, such as job level, complexity and responsibility required by the role, knowledge, job duties and requirements, relevant experience, and skills.   


Pay Ranges for Applicants in CA, CO, and WA 
The pay range for this position in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, and New York City is $99,800 - $120,800.  For those who are elsewhere in California, the range is $63,000 - $99,800.  For those based in Colorado, the range is $63,000 -$99,800.  For those based in Washington State, the range is $63,000 - $120,800.  As noted above, all of these pay ranges depend upon specific location, knowledge, relevant experience, background, and skills
