Heavy Equipment Operator - East Grand Forks, MN

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS may include but not limited to:
  • Visually inspect equipment for safe operations.
  • Operate all site trucks, vehicles, and unload/stacking equipment.
  • Move material in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Keep coal free of contaminates and place in a way to avoid any degradation of product.
  • Follow all Holland, L.P. & American Crystal Sugar safety rules.
  • Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   
  • Ability to perform required daily stretching exercises.
  • Throughout entire length of shift, ability to stand; use hands and fingers to touch, feel, handle, or manipulate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; speak and hear; walk, stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, crouch, and crawl.
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools, hammers, and the ability to move 25 pounds are required to perform vehicle and equipment maintenance operations.
  • Must not be afraid of heights
  • Audio & Visual acuity. 
  • Willingness to utilize all personal protective equipment.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  • Exposure on a regular basis to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Exposure to coal dust from coal unloading, stacking operations, truck unloading.
  • Exposure to silica dust from limestone unloading.
  • Exposure to gasoline and fuel vapors when fueling trucks and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator
  • Demonstrated math, reading, and writing skills to read service manuals, order parts, update and maintain vehicle service records on site.
  • Satisfactory completion of a company-training program for equipment operators & laborers.
  • Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and abide by our Corporate Fleet Polity
  • Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland, L.P.
