RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead end-to-end test planning and execution across mechanical, electrical, firmware and software subsystems.
- Develop and maintain system validation plans, including environmental, vibration, EMI/EMC, and functional testing.
- Oversee unit, integration, regression, and system-level testing to ensure all components and interfaces work as intended.
- Oversee sensor calibration and verification for laser, inertial, radar, GPS, and vision-based measurement systems.
- Design and manage automated test rigs, and field validation programs for production and prototype hardware.
- Ensure product compliance with applicable railway standards such as, FRA 213, and international track safety standards (Canada, Mexico, Brazil, UK, Australia, European Union).
- Define firmware and embedded system test plans including communications (CAN, RS-485, Ethernet, MQTT, etc.).
- Collaborate with software engineers to validate data synchronization, API interfaces, and cloud analytics workflows.
- Implement automated test frameworks for both edge devices and web applications.
- Ensure data accuracy, traceability, and defect reporting throughout ingestion and processing pipelines.
- Establish QA processes, metrics, and dashboards from prototype to production release.
- Lead root-cause analysis, FMEA, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for test or field failures.
- Manage vendor test facilities and ensure consistency between internal and outsourced testing activities.
- Maintain traceability of requirements and verification results and certifications through Azure DevOps.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in system test, validation, or QA of complex electro-mechanical or embedded systems.
- Strong knowledge of sensor-based measurement, signal integrity, and system integration testing.
- Proficiency with oscilloscopes, data acquisition systems, calibration tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Experience with software QA processes and test automation frameworks (e.g., Python, pytest, GoogleTest).
- Working knowledge of C++ and the ability to interpret, review, and debug code behavior during test analysis.
- Working familiarity with railway or industrial equipment standards, such as FRA Part 213, AAR, or EN/ISO norms.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency using Azure DevOps for test case management, requirement traceability, and reporting.
