SimX is a fast-growing startup bringing virtual and augmented reality to medical simulation training. Our product is the first comprehensive professional-grade VR medical simulation system, and it is used by our customers to train physicians, nurses, paramedics and other allied health professionals. THE JOB
As a Site Reliability Engineer at SimX, you will be a key player in ensuring our services are reliable, scalable, and efficient. You will bridge the gap between development and operations, using a mix of coding, automation, and a deep understanding of systems engineering to maintain high availability and performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build resilient systems, respond to incidents, and learn from failures to prevent recurrence.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, maintain, and scale infrastructure through automation and infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Implement and manage continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) systems.
- Define, monitor, and enforce Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to ensure service reliability and performance.
- Lead incident management processes, including on-call rotations, incident response, and postmortem analysis.
- Collaborate with development teams to enhance service reliability through better observability, automation, and design consultation.
- Continuously improve systems by identifying and automating manual processes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Strong coding skills in at least one of the following languages: Go, TypeScript
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Profound knowledge of systems engineering, including networking, databases, and cloud services.
- Experience with CI/CD tools and practices.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
This is a full-time, remote position. Candidates must live within the United States and will primarily be expected to work during business hours Pacific Time. In addition, candidates will also be expected to attend major simulation conferences and/or in person closing meetings potentially as frequently as monthly.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience with container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes).
- Previous experience in an SRE or DevOps role.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Target salary range: $130,000-160,000 annually; commensurate with experience Remote work environment
