ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Perform railcar prepping according to established procedure.
- Safely operate service truck/trailer/RTV.
- Conduct pre-inspection and post-inspection of assigned truck/trailer/RTV/tools/parts.
- Follow all safety procedures, including wearing all appropriate PPE and Blue Flag Rules.
- Participate in meeting objectives for safety, quality, and profitability.
- Create all required reports accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist in Inventory of material and parts.
- Maintain good communication with customers.
- Follow company and applicable railroad policies and procedures.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Maintain good housekeeping of equipment and site.
- Perform mobile cleaning.
- Continue to develop railcar repair knowledge/experience according to AAR/FRA and company guidelines.
- Learn to utilize any customer related tracking information to determine scheduling.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift & carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Standing, walking, bending, and work safely on Prep railcars for loading.
- Ability to climb in and out of a large truck.
- Ability to climb ladders on a railcar.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Exposure on a regular basis to all outdoor weather conditions.
- Exposure to dust from various grains, fertilizers and minerals.
- Willingness to be available 24/7 for site support and travel up to 10% of the time if needed.
- Willingness to stay overnight in hotels.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School diploma or equivalent
- Certified Welder to AWSD15.0 preferred.
- Completed Prepping Training Certification preferred.
- Proven knowledge and experience on prepping.
- Good interpersonal skills in dealing with customer’s, employee’s management, & vendors.
- Good organizational and paperwork skills.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and abide by the Corporate Fleet Policy.
- Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland L.P.
