Primary Function:



The survey modeling technician assists the excavation division in a variety of ways. They create 3D models from 2D plans and CADD files provided by the engineers on potential and current projects. They also process field survey data collected from our projects and turn it into 3D surfaces and 2D exhibits for internal and external project stakeholders. This technician will also be called on to use this data to perform quantity calculations. Some field surveying and equipment troubleshooting will be required as well.



Typical Duties:



· Using CADD and survey software.



· Creating 3D surface models.



· Reviewing and understanding engineering drawings.



· Be familiar with survey equipment and machine control software.



· Create files for use in survey and machine control equipment and supporting field operations.



· Create exhibits to submit to clients or for internal use.



· Importing and organizing survey data from field operations.



· Using 3D/2D information for quantity calculations.



Physical/Environmental Requirements



· Must be able to do some local travel by driving between job sites, office, and meeting locations.



· Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.



· Ability to walk and stand on uneven surfaces.



· Ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 1 Hr.)



· Ability to climb in and out of vehicles and construction equipment.



· Ability to bend, kneel, twist, reach and lift.



· Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions (including extreme heat and cold)



· Ability to work in dusty environment.



Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:



· Associates Degree in Construction Management (BS in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or Civil Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience



· Prior survey or CADD experience.



· Ability to work with all levels of management.



· Strong Math Aptitude.



· Detailed orientated with good organizational and paperwork skills.



· Ability to properly communicate with associated Curran personnel and customers.



· Good coaching and training skills.



· Microsoft Project and Office proficiency is a plus.



· Must possess a valid driver’s license and comply with all Curran motor vehicle policies.



Wage Type: Salaried, exempt
