ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Shadow members of the Accounting department as they perform their duties
- Assist with research, data entry, record and maintain accurate and complete financial records
- Work with accounting software
- Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity
- Compile various analyses, create journal entries and support the various divisions
- Take on additional tasks or projects to learn about accounting and office operations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Standing, walking, bending and sitting for extended periods are required to perform basic office functions.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds is regularly required for filing and other record keeping duties.
- Vision must be sufficient for imputing data into a computer.
- Keyboarding skills that reduce the risk of carpal tunnel and other office related injuries.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Indoor office/home environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED
- Must be currently or recently enrolled in college courses related to Accounting
- Must have basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality while dealing with protected information.
- Ability to multi task and prioritize your work flow.
- Intermediate MS Office skills including Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Possess a high level of efficiency, accuracy and responsibility
- Must have motivation and strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Efficient at communicating both written and verbal.
- Must be willing to take and pass all mandatory pre-employment testing.
- Must be able to maintain a valid driver’s license along with an e-Rail Safe badge and meet the Holland Vehicle Fleet Policy.
