ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Understands the importance of employment law and compliance, especially regarding employment eligibility, confidentiality, property maintenance of employee files and forms management
- Learns steps in Recruiting and Hiring process, including posting of jobs, reviewing of resumes and conducting telephone interviews
- Acts as the inter relationship of HR and other various support groups in the areas of new employee paperwork, use of HRIS database and report generation.
- Performs administrative duties such as filing, ordering of supplies, faxing, etc…
- Assists Reception with phones and mail when asked.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Standing, walking, bending and sitting for extended periods are required to perform basic office functions.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds is regularly required for filing and other record keeping duties.
- Vision must be sufficient for imputing data into a computer.
- Keyboarding skills that reduce the risk of carpal tunnel and other office related injuries.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Indoor office environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or GED
- Must be currently or recently enrolled in college courses related to the Human Resources field
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with dealing with personal and protected information.
- Ability to multi task and prioritize your work flow.
- Intermediate MS Office skills including Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Efficient at communicating both written and verbal.
- Must be willing to take and pass all mandatory pre-employment testing.
- Must be able to maintain a valid driver’s license along with an e-Rail Safe badge and meet the Holland Vehicle Fleet Policy.
