Our product is the first comprehensive professional-grade VR medical simulation system, and it is used by our customers to train physicians, nurses, paramedics and other allied health professionals. THE JOB
We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience as a paramedic and hold a current National Registry Certification at the EMT level or higher. This role will involve contributing to designing, developing, and reviewing healthcare simulations for curriculum alignment and adherence to healthcare simulation best practices.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Curriculum Development:
  • Integrate best practices and evidence-based learning frameworks into simulation content.
  • Ensure that the simulations meet accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Map simulations to National (occasionally state/county level) EMS Education Standards
Simulation Design and Implementation:
  • Assist with the development of simulation scenarios to enhance learning and clinical competencies
  • Ensure simulations are aligned with learning objectives and outcomes.
  • Review simulation materials for alignment to simulation best practice standards including pre-briefing and debriefing guides. 
Subject Matter Expertise:
  • Provide expertise in clinical practices, ensuring current and relevant educational content to the EMS Scope of Practice.
  • Serve as a resource on best practices in clinical education and simulation.
Quality Assurance and Improvement:
  • Participate in the evaluation and continuous improvement of simulation scenarios. 
  • Collect and analyze data on simulation outcomes to inform program enhancements.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive and integrated educational programs.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with all stakeholders. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum of five years experience as a paramedic within high-call volume systems
  • Current National Registry Certification at the EMT level or higher
  • Proven experience in curriculum development and the implementation of simulation-based education.
  • Strong clinical skills and comprehensive knowledge of EMS content
  • Excellent instructional design and curriculum development abilities.
  • Proficiency in simulation technology and best practices in simulation-based education.
  • Substantial experience with common office tools like Microsoft Teams, Google Docs/Microsoft Office, and others. 
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
This is a PRN, remote position with flexible hours as needed to meet project demands. Candidates must live within the United States.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Experience as an EMS educator or simulation coordinator
  • Specialty certifications such as critical care or flight-certified 
  • Experience with virtual reality (VR) and/or augmented reality (AR) in nursing education

COMPENSATION
  • Target hourly rate: $40, hours based on project need
