Job Summary:
Curran is seeking a skilled accounting professional with expertise in management, payroll and accounts payables to lead our AP team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail and a collaborative mentality. An individual in this position will play a hands-on role in streamlining processes, actively contributing to the growth and the success of our Accounting & Finance department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Manage day to day activities of direct reports: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and Plant Administration
· Prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing insights into the company’s performance and trends
· Assist in the coordination and execution of the audit process, including Union audits
· Maintain, update and process payroll, including the calculation and payment of employee wages, taxes, and benefits
· Process and file all weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax returns for two companies
· Train, mentor, and develop accounting staff to ensure high-performing cohesive team
· Ensure accounting functions are being performed as stated in company policies and procedures and in accordance with GAAP
· Develop, communicate, and enforce necessary safeguard assets and provide reliable financial information
· Reviews and approves narratives and control matrices on an annual basis.
· Prepare annual and quarterly compensation forecasts, including annual salary review schedules
· Other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities:
· Strong, recent knowledge of GAAP
· Proficient in Microsoft including Excel and Outlook
· Proven Leadership Abilities
· Able to navigate Vista or similar software
· Demonstrated knowledge in the accounting field
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Able to maintain confidentiality
Education & Experience:
· Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
· CPA or CMA a plus
· 5-10+ years experience in accounting or finance
· 3-5+ years experience in management
· 3+ years of construction experience preferred
