ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Responsible for promoting a safety culture in support of the corporate goal of zero OSHA recordable accidents.  Responsible for developing and maintaining safety process support systems within HEBU.  Examples of support systems include, but are not limited to, maintenance of action items logs, safety walks, training, and job safety briefings. 
  • Provides leadership for all aspects of HEBU production to support customer schedule requirements.  Collaborates with the Engineering Manager and Production Control Manager to actively manage and prioritize production based on priorities established on the Production Schedule and the Manufacturing Resource capacity plan. 
  • Manages production planning and the level loading of all production departments.  Ensures staffing levels are optimized utilizing capacity reporting tools.  
  • Executes incremental project milestones. 
  • Responsible for the practical application of continuous improvement (CI) and lean techniques to support improvements in quality, project velocity and project margin performance. 
  • Meets or exceeds project estimates. 
  • Responsible for identifying and implementing, in conjunction with Manufacturing Engineering, process and capital equipment/technology improvements. 
  • Utilizes quality systems, including ISO 9001 and AAR standards (when applicable), to ensure compliance to customer and product requirements. 
  • Develops and utilizes KPI’s in the areas of safety, quality, cost (productivity), and delivery as a baseline to optimize and improve business performance.  Utilizes lean daily management visual systems to measure progress and establish countermeasures for improvement. 
  • Creates and executes plans for team development of department leads.  Ensures cross training plans are in place to support the business. 
  • Develops and manages departmental budgets. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation. 
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. 
  • Willingness to wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed boots) as required. 

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: 

  • Indoor office environment, outdoor environment, and shop floor activity. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience 
  • Proven experience of direct production management experience within a manufacturing company, preferably heavy equipment. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills 
  • Strong customer service skills 
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Lean Principles; A Green Belt and/or Black Belt would be a definite plus.

This role will require to sign both a non-compete and non-solicit agreement.  The candidate will be eligible for a $500 Sign-On Bonus for each form they sign, totaling $1000.  This Sign-On Bonus will be paid out on the first pay period following date of hire.
