Start Up Technician - University Park, IL

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
  • Generate, maintain and execute the project date milestone schedule for each Mobile Welder from receipt of unit from Welding Technology until revenue ready.
  • Review each new Mobile Welder to ensure compliance to specifications. 
  • Makes all necessary repairs to Mobile Welder to bring unit into compliance to specifications – both mechanical and electrical. 
  • Document and communicate all supplier nonconformances (NCR’s) using the Holland Quality System. 
  • Work with procurement and suppliers to resolve all nonconformances on a timely basis.  Manges all supplier repair appointments. 
  • Manages and completes all external services required to bring a Mobile Welder into revenue ready status including, but not limited to, completing DOT inspection, hi-rail testing, and weighing. 
  • Document all corrective actions in the HEBU system tracker. 
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement (OFI’s) using the HEBU Mobile Welder system tracker.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Complies to all Holland PPE guidelines (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed boots) as needed.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  • Shop environment including assembly, welding, overhead cranes and fork trucks.
  • Work in all weather conditions.
  • Dusty, smoky, damp, dark.
QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ten or more years of electrical and mechanical experience with heavy equipment
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency
  • CDL License
  • Requires travel to local suppliers and to address field concerns (10%)
