ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with Project Management, Sales Department and Accounting to effectively outline product scope and participate in estimating new projects
- Serves as the organizational leader for the oversight of innovative Holland product designs
- Provides leadership for technical problem solving
- Responsible for the creation, management, and updating of WTG Engineering KPI’s including the maintenance of bowlers and other relation KPI tools
- Maintains project cost to complete (CTC) exercises for assigned projects
- Assists with project estimating
- Manage the engineering resource capacity plan and schedule; provide inputs into the Holland Production System for all Holland projects
- Meet or exceed project estimate cost targets
- Support Holland quality system
- Develop the skills and abilities of the engineering team; develop personnel skills and abilities through mentoring and formal development plans
- Work closely with customers, suppliers, and other Holland employees during all phases of a project
- Periodic travel is required, domestic and international, for field site visits and vendor assessment
- Work with vendors to improve product quality, delivery and to continuously reduce cost
- Utilize Lean tools to facilitate product and process improvements
- Effectively develop personnel and next generation leaders
- Prepare and implement department strategic plans and annual operating budgets
- Generate and maintain department performance metrics
- Support Manufacturing Engineering led process improvements including capital projects
- Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Willingness to wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed boots) as needed
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Office/cubicle/home environment
- Shop environment including welding, overhead cranes, and fork trucks
- Field on-track environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSME preferred
- Management experience in a heavy equipment environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to drive creative and unique engineering solutions
- Able to work to deadlines
- Work effectively as team leader
- Ability to facilitate and make decisions
- Knowledge of FMEA, Lean practices, and Value Engineering
- Detail oriented
- Self-motivated
- Must maintain a valid passport
