Salary range: $85,000-$95,000
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES:

- Proven success in building and leading diverse teams while managing complex safety initiatives across multiple departments
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build relationships at all organizational levels
- Capable of resolving challenging, time-sensitive issues involving multiple stakeholders
- In-depth understanding of OSHA and state safety regulations, with hands-on experience in manufacturing, equipment, welding, maintenance and building safety
- Extensive experience managing third-party compliance, site-specific pre-qualification, and vendor selection through structured tender processes
- Skilled at setting expectations, offering feedback, and supporting employee development
- Able to balance immediate operational needs with long-term safety goals
- Trusted decision-maker who leads with integrity and confidence
- Designing, updating, and rolling out health and safety programs
- Identifying risks and applying proactive safety measures
- Conducting audits and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance
- Delivering safety training and education to employees
- Experience creating programs with LMS
- Keeping detailed records and preparing safety reports
- Investigating incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence and implementing corrective actions to reduce safety risks
- Staying up to date with regulations, best practices, and safety technologies
- Advising leadership on safety improvements and required changes
- Leading safety meetings across multiple departments
- Building internal scorecards to track and manage safety metrics and KPIs
- Reviewing applicable laws and standards to maintain compliance
- Providing coaching, training, and support to field and shop teams
- Experience with heavy equipment, forklifts, scissor lifts, arial lifts and fall protection
- Ensuring new hires are properly trained and all required training is completed on time
- Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to walk for prolonged periods of time on uneven surfaces such as railroad track areas, rough surface jobsites, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive motions in an office environment such as sitting, typing, computer use, etc.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and on and off heavy trucks and equipment
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and otherwise get around indoor, outdoor, railroad track, and other general work areas and equipment
- Vision must be sufficient for driving and for conducting safety audits and inspections
- Ability to travel up to 50% via rail, automobile and airplane
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, when conducting site visits/audits/training, etc
- Exposure to dust/fumes/mist, grinding particles, smoke, and particulates consistent with welding, grinding, and heavy industrial work
- Must be able to do shift work and work irregular hours, including weekends as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Safety is preferred
- CSP, ASP or any safety related designation is preferred
- 5 years’ experience in a Safety Supervisor or manager role is a manufacturing facility is preferred
- Well versed in OSHA and State regulations
- Experience with ISN, Avetta, and FRA compliance is preferred
- Successful experience in development of OHS Programs and Procedures
- Proficient in accident investigation fundamentals
- Proficient in all Microsoft suite of products
- Must be able to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland L.P.
