Job Summary: 
The Site Superintendent oversees and directs all activities of civil field personnel on heavy highway and excavation projects. Working closely with the Operations Manager and General Superintendent, this role plans and schedules labor, equipment, and materials to ensure self-performed work is completed safely, on time, and cost-effectively. The Site Superintendent champions Curran’s safety culture while driving operational efficiency and maximizing project profitability. 
 
Duties & Responsibilities: 
 
-          Works closely with Operations Manager and General Superintendent to equip and staff their projects to ensure work can be performed on schedule and cost-effectively while maximizing utilization of our owned resources. 
-          Place orders for aggregates, various materials, and hourly trucks. 
-          Continually monitor, with the assistance of the Project Management and Surveying Departments, the project's cost and schedule, including: 
  • Review of foreman’s daily submittal of time sheets for accuracy of cost codes, labor, equipment, trucking, materials, and performed quantities in Heavy job software. 
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly review of job costs against budget with foreman and PMs, then making necessary field changes to improve project profitability. 
  • Assist in the creation of Look Ahead Schedules, Baseline Schedules, and Schedule Updates. 
-          Attend client project progress meetings with Project Managers. 
-          Provide updates during regular meetings regarding schedule, project issues, equipment and manpower needs, and cost concerns. 
-          Manage a team on multiple projects. 
-          Assist estimating team as needed (site visits, bid reviews, production data). 
-          Ensure safety practices and policies are being properly adhered to across job sites; lead toolbox talks and ensure corrective action for any hazards. 
-          Coach foreman and field crew leaders to support the development of field staff to ensure a skilled workforce for future projects and develop future leaders. 
 
Required Skills & Abilities: 
-          Excellent communication skills, both written and oral. 
-          Strong math aptitude. 
-          Detail-oriented and able to multitask 
-          Knowledge of IDOT and tollway specifications a plus 
 
Education & Experience: 
-          Local laborers’ or operators’ union membership required. 
-          Prior foreman (or similar) experience required. 
-          Superintendent experience a plus. 
-          Detailed knowledge of mass grading, footing excavation, and heavy highway equipment required.

This role is targeting a range of $110k-150k and is eligible for the company's incentive bonus program.
