ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- OSHA Compliance for fixed facilities
- Assist with training and managing of fixed shop/ manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA and State regulations
- Develop and Implement Risk Reduction Plans
- Assist with managing TRIR, DART, SIFs and PSIFs
- Assist in continual improvement of Safety and Compliance Management System
- Work to develop internal scorecards to effectively monitor and manage all leading indicators and internal KPI’s
- Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable legislation and applicable standards to ensure compliance.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, guidance and training to fixed shop employees including daily shop floor walk throughs and inspections
- Ensure new hires are oriented and trained correctly and ensure all employees complete all designated training modules on schedule.
- Assist with revising and developing internal safety and training programs.
- Perform incident investigations, identify contributing factors, root cause analysis and develop and implement corrective actions.
- Communicate Safety successes, near miss details and trend analysis findings to senior leaders.
- All other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to walk for prolonged periods of time on uneven surfaces such as railroad track areas, rough surface jobsites, etc.
- Ability to conduct repetitive motions in an office environment such as sitting, typing, computer use, etc.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and on and off heavy trucks and equipment.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and otherwise get around indoor, outdoor, railroad track, and other general work areas and equipment.
- Vision must be sufficient for driving and for conducting safety audits and inspections.
- Ability to travel up to 30% via rail, automobile and airplane.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Exposure to outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, when conducting site visits/audits/training, etc.
- Exposure to dust/fumes/mist, grinding particles, smoke, and particulates consistent with welding, grinding, and heavy industrial work.
- Must be able to do shift work and work irregular hours, including weekends as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- ASP or CSP is an asset
- Post Secondary Education if Safety is an asset
- Well versed in FRA, OSHA, and ISO
- Successful experience in development of OHS Programs and Procedures
- Proficient in accident investigation fundamentals
- Proficient in all Microsoft suite of products
- Must maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL Class A) or obtain one within the first 6 months of employment, and abide by our Corporate Fleet Policy
- Must be able to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland L.P.
