ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines between operational systems and reporting tools
- Support integration of data from Azure DevOps, ticketing systems (e.g., KACE), and uptime monitoring platforms
- Work with Data Scientist to structure and optimize data models for Power BI reporting
- Develop and test automated data transformation processes (ETL/ELT)
- Ensure data accuracy, validation, and hygiene across reporting sources
- Support backend optimization of dashboards and reporting infrastructure
- Contribute to documentation of data architecture and integration workflows
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software, hardware, analytics, and product teams to support customer reliability initiatives
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time to customer offices or field validation sites as needed.
- Ability to obtain railroad required security clearance if required.
- Ability to work in office and occasional field environments as required.
- Willingness to wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots) as required.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Ability to handle typical office conditions and occasional field environments when supporting validation activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited university.
- Familiarity with SQL and data modeling concepts.
- Experience with Python or similar scripting language preferred.
- Understanding of APIs and data integration concepts.
- Experience using Git for version control and collaborative development
- Experience with Excel; Power BI exposure is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with structured guidance.
- Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland LP.
