- Ability to follow all railway specific rules including Holland safety and OTS rules related to all job task.
- Ability to provide all essential training to employees including quality procedures, safety programs and the ability to provide training for various job-related tasks.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles on roadways and on track while meeting the grade of license required and meet all State and DOT requirements.
- Ability to perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot all equipment to minimize equipment downtime.
- Work in full compliance and procedures set out by the Holland company safety program to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ability to interface all customers.
- Responsible to oversee daily operation of work sites, ensuring that safety and quality are maintained at the highest standards.
- Ability to maintain a high level of production
- Ability to produce a quality weld.
- Ability to generate all required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Maintain all Holland Company safety standards.
- Must have a good working relationship with customers.
- Able to manage and control costs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS WHILE WORKING FOR HTG:
- Perform all duties associated with thermite welding.
- Knows and understands specific railroads standards and measurement compliances for thermite welds.
- Complete all necessary paperwork associated with thermite welding.
- Knows and understands process of thermite welding.
- Set up and break down thermite work locations.
- Other duties as assigned
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS WHILE WORKING FOR MOD:
- Ability to set up a welder head to weld any type of transit rail
- Ability and knowledge to set up roller line operations
- Ability and knowledge to operate the welder head using various application, A frame, crane, extended reach mobile welders and speed swings
- Knowledge to set up and operate a rail pusher
- Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical and hydraulic equipment and perform general maintenance and perform overhauls.
- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to travel extensively via ground and air.
- Ability to lift 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Standing, walking, bending and working safely on rough uneven terrain.
- Ability to climb in and out of mobile operating equipment and associated Welding Group Equipment.
- Vision must be sufficient for reading instrumentation & measuring devices.
- Must have the ability to work at various heights
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
- Exposure on a regular basis to mostly indoor shop environment-dry conditions, heated shop, non-air-conditioned, concrete floor, including welding, grinding, cranes and fork trucks.
- Exposure to outdoor in all weather conditions.
- Wearing and use of all PPE and any additional safety related gear to perform job functions.
- Focused environment that supports safety and housekeeping practices.
- Must be able to pass OSHA and fall arrest training
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be willing to travel extensively.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- CDL Preferred
- Must be detail-oriented and have some basic mechanical skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
- Must have good organizational and paperwork skills.
- Computer knowledge would be a plus.
- Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics would be a plus.
- Effectively deal with customers and employees.
