Shop and Field Support Specialist - Merrillville, Indiana

Curran Contracting
The Shop and Field Support Specialist provides daily operational support to Curran Contracting's equipment shops and fleet asset functions.  This role works closely with shop personnel, site leaders, and field crews to help our field operations run smoothly and efficiently.
 
Duties & Responsibilities
·         Pick up and deliver parts, tools, equipment, supplies, and materials between shops, vendors, project sites, and other company locations. 
·         Organize parts, tools, and materials within shop and yard locations to support efficient operations. 
·         Assist with shop and yard housekeeping, maintaining clean, safe, and organized work areas. 
·         Support equipment and vehicle readiness by assisting with inspections, documentation, fueling coordination, cleanliness, and preparation for field deployment. 
·         Assist mechanics and shop personnel with non-technical support activities as directed. 
 
Required Skills & Abilities
·         Safe driving practices and the ability to operate company vehicles in accordance with company policies. 
·         Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with shop personnel, field crews, vendors, and suppliers. 
·         Ability to work both in an office environment and outdoors in shop, yard, and construction site settings. 
·         Ability to perform moderate physical work, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials and supplies.
·         Ability to work independently while following established procedures.
 
Education & Experience
·         High school diploma or GED required.
·         Valid driver's license with a clean, insurable driving record required.
·         CDL preferred.
·         Construction, fleet, equipment, or shop experience preferred.
 
Working Conditions
·         Must comply with Curran's safety policies and required PPE when entering operational areas.
·         Exposure to varying weather conditions may occur during site visits.
·         Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
