ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Responsible for guidance to all employees (Open Door Policy) to insure consistent adherence to HR policies, procedures, and practices.
· Responsible for pro-active employee relations, communication support, and internal management consultation as they relate to the Human Resource function.
· Administer the employment function, which includes recruiting and screening of applicants, facilitating the use of any temporary employment agencies and utilizing the job posting system for internal/external candidates in accordance with company and legal guidelines.
· Assist in the development and implementation of all Strategic HR management programs (i.e. employee involvement, hiring, promotional practices, wages structures, and proactive employee relations).
· Coordinate, facilitate and/or assist in all training activities within the assigned group(s)(i.e. compliance, orientation programs, job knowledge, and leadership performances).
· Maintain all personnel records in accordance with EEO, privacy, and related requirements.
· Advise management teams regarding prompt and accurate completion of all status changes and in assuring prompt and accurate updated information in the HRIS system.
· Administer the Random Drug Screening Process.
· Responds to unemployment filings and appeals.
· Conducts and documents employee relations investigations for business areas.
· Create programs around engagement and feedback that are in alignment with our values. Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Standing, walking, bending, and sitting for extended periods are required to perform basic office functions and field visits.
· Ability to lift up to 15 pounds is regularly required for filing and other record keeping duties.
· Keyboarding skills that reduce the risk of carpal tunnel and other office related injuries.
· Ability to travel at least 25% via ground, rail and air
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
· May be exposed to extreme weather conditions, dusty environments, welding fumes and coal dust.
· General office and home environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Liberal Arts or equivalent managerial and team leadership experience.
· At least 1 year of professional H.R. experience to include proven employee relations consulting and talent acquisition experience a plus
· Direct supervisory experience is a definite plus.
· Bi-Lingual (English and Spanish) is a definite plus.
· Intermediate level of expertise in PowerPoint and Excel.
· Strong verbal and written skills and ability to maintain confidentiality of employee information
· Ability to relate with diverse population
· Superior interpersonal and listening skills
· Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland, L.P.
· Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and abide by our Corporate Fleet Policy
