ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
  • Supervise Aries, Rangecam and Genesis development teams and act as a subject matter expert in on-premise or cloud-based solutions
  • Design and develop the overall technology strategy and architecture by aligning the IT strategy with the business goals and objectives, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement
  • Lead the design and development of the enterprise architecture framework, ensuring that it supports the organization's current and future needs. This involves
  • defining the architecture principles, standards, and guidelines to ensure consistency and interoperability across systems and applications
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the development team and other stakeholders. Mentor and coach other developers collaborate with cross-functional teams, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
  • Assess new and emerging technologies, conducting research and analysis to determine their potential impact on the organization. Make recommendations on
  • technology investments, considering factors such as reliability, scalability, security, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with business objectives
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. They participate in professional networks, attend conferences, and engage in continuous learning to enhance their knowledge and skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to travel to customer offices, railroad track testing sites, and on TrackSTAR® testing vehicles
  • Travel domestically (regular) and internationally (occasional)
  • Ability to obtain railroad required security clearance and maintain railroad on-track safety training

 ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
  •  Ability to walk on rough ground/railroad track, climb vehicle ladders, inclines, and work on vehicle systems in the field or shop
  • Ability to handle typical weather extremes if in the field
  • Willingness to wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toed boots) as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a software developer or an architect 
  • In-depth understanding of software development principles, methodologies, and best practices 
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and technologies 
  • Knowledge of enterprise software systems, including their architecture, components, and integration mechanisms 
  • Experience with database systems, data modeling, and data management
  • Familiarity with enterprise application integration (EAI) patterns and technologies 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cloud architecture and solution designs on Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services 
  • Experience with DevOps 
  • Experience with Apache, NodeJS and MySQL
  • Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark
  •  Ability to maintain a valid Driver’s License and Passport, abide by our Corporate Fleet Policy
  •  Ability to successfully complete all pre-employment testing required by Holland, L.P.
